Indoor environmental quality

TEBE group has developed methods to measure the performance of buildings in terms of occupant comfort and productivity, energy efficiency, and operations. For example, monitoring the indoor environmental parameters means to investigate the factors that contribute to determining the global comfort (thermal comfort, indoor air quality, visual comfort and acoustics’). Monitor the indoor environment has two mainly goals: to certificate the IEQ, according with the international standards on comfort, and use the monitored data as input for building and systems diagnostic. However maintaining a high level of comfort is often related to significant energy costs, and find an equilibrate balance between these two factors is one of the aim of the research. The research on IEQ provides immediate feedback for building owners and operators, and assists architects, engineers, and builders in the development of future buildings.
