Objective and perceptual assessment of the scattered sound field
Measurements
The research aims at characterizing the scattering properties of diffusive surfaces through full-scale and scaled measurements in reverberation rooms according to ISO 17497-1:2004. Studies are particularly referred to the evaluation of the measurement uncertainties due to the undefined issues of the standard. The research is carried out in collaboration with the National Institute of Metrological Research (INRiM) of Turin.
Perception
The research aims at evaluating the perceptual effects of the diffusive surfaces in–situ (performance spaces), in laboratory and in acoustic simulations through listening tests. These investigations are referred to the evaluation of the most effective location, extension and orientation of the diffusive surfaces.
