RePublic_ZEB

Intelligent Energy – Europe (IEE) Project

Full title of the project: Refurbishment of the Public Building Stock Towards nZEB

Acronym of the project: RePublic_ZEB

Duration (in months): 30, from March 2014

The main objectives of the IEE Project are to support the South-Eastern European countries to promote on the market a set of concrete technical solutions for the refurbishment of the public building stock toward nZEB by increasing the involved key actors’ confidence on nZEB, and to take concrete steps to accelerate the existing public building renovations. The project mainly focuses on the Mediterranean and the South-East European countries, as there are common conditions in terms of climate, energy performance (both cooling and heating  are important) and available RES potential.

 The proposal aims to achieve the objectives through the following phases:

-             analysis of the public building stock and definition of reference buildings;

-             assessment of the status quo and analysis of opportunities for refurbishing public buildings towards nZEB;

-             costs/benefits analysis of the “packages of measures” for the refurbishment towards nZEB;

-             strategies and guidelines towards nZEBs;

-             involvement of stakeholders and authorities;

-             communication and dissemination.

 The implementation of RePublic_ZEB proposal in the context of the IEE will bring together different professionals from countries with different energy obstacles and achievements, to develop strategies for the refurbishment towards nZEB of the public building stock, according to the EU 20/20/20 target.
